George Mortimer Pullman
Pullman, George Mortimer (3 Mar. 1831-19 Oct. 1897), industrialist, was born in Brocton, Chautauqua County, New York, the son of James Lewis Pullman, a carpenter and mechanic, and Emily Caroline Minton. In the mid-1830s James Pullman invented a machine to move buildings on wheels.
